Kiss Stamp Technique

Well Hello there...... We have technique week over at Come and Get It Challenges and we are doing some kissing!  LOL  That's stamp kissing anyway......It's where you ink up a solid stamp in a light color and ink up a patterned stamp in a darker color then you stamp right onto your solid inked stamp.......this is called "Kissing"

So here's a close-up of my card that I did and you can see the darker image that I kissed onto my solid stamped image

Just one more close-up, now make sure you hop on over to CGI Challenges to check out the other cards that the Design Team has done and come join us and try your hand at the technique!

June Sketch Challenge at CGI

Hello again, I'm sharing with you my card for the sketch that Cindy picked for the month June......the orange background was done with tattered angels stencil and then I ran it through the Cuttlebug using a A2 folder.  My ribbon and pearls were not the right colors to match so I found copic markers came in handy to change them.....what do ya think?  Hope you have a chance to hop over and see what the other Design Team members has done with this sketch.

Hope to see ya again soon,  I so enjoy your comments!

Color Challenge At CGI

This is the color theme that I chose for our Challenge at Come and Get It, come on over and join us!
So here's my card that I've done for the challenge.....there's some double bugging that I did for the background using my Cuttle bug, the flourish is made with the Cri-cut and the flowers with the half pearls are SU
The sparkles on her jewelry shows up better in the close-up shot, I had fun when I was coloring here hair with the different shades of black so I'd get some depth to it.

Glitter Tag Swap

This was a fun tag to make that I sent off for my swap partner on one of my Yahoo Groups.......I started out with my basic tag made with SU card stock and covered it with PPA (Perfect Paper Adhesive) it's better than modge podge, then covered it with a Designer Napkin trimmed the edges, added another coat of PPA and sprinkled it with ultra fine glitter let it dry over night or dry with heat gun......WAH LA   Now you have a wonderfully done elegant tag!

I got carried away a little bit with my glitter....is that called heavy handed??  LOL  Oh well I hope that my partner likes glitter as much as I do!!

Special News......My house was rockin' with excitement!

I am pleased to announce our Summer 2011 Design Team!  Congratulations, you made it!  We'll get started very soon.  Please stay tuned.  You can now tell anyone you want!

You fabulous stampers have bravely volunteered to be a part of the inaugural group.  I had over 60 applications, and it was just too hard to decide, so I added five more positions than I had originally intended.  Several other applicants will be offered a spot at being a Guest Designer for a month.  I appreciate all of the interest in Third Coast and our stamps.  Truly!

Father's Day Theme ..........CGI Challenges

Hello again, I'm sharing my card with you for the Challenge at Come and Get It.  This week Julie picked the theme as "Father's Day" I used a retired set called "Set Sail" from SU for the main image, background, anchor and compass image is from the Summer Mini Catalog called "The Open Sea"
I just love this image with all the little extras around the edges it was colored with copic markers and I dry brushed the gray/blue in the clouds and lightly sponged blue for the sky then distressed the edges with vintage photo ink.  I've added my card for a few challenges at TSM, and CforallSeasons

Faux Linen with flowers.....CGI Challenge

Well I thought I'd try making another of the Faux Linen cards using a SU wheel called "Very Vintage".....I love the antique look of this wheel.  I experimented with this technique and stamped with the wheel and then sponged vintage photo distress ink then sanded my paper, cleaned the dust off.   I took very light SU marker to color in the floral part.

My tulips were from an image swap that I painted with LuminArt'e shimmer paint pots.......love the little bit of sparkle it adds to the flowers.

Here you can actually see the strokes from being sanded, as most pieces it's really hard to see.
