Come And Get It ~ Autumn Thank You

Good Day!

Well here it's Sunday and I haven't gotten my house hold chores done, so no rest for me!  The rain has come back to make for a dreary wet day and the leaves are continually falling.......anyone up for a raking beside me??  LOL

I've best be telling you about the Challenge over at Come And Get It,  Cindy is playing hostess this week and she lives in Canada and they are getting ready for Thanksgiving.  So our theme is Thanks, Gratitude or Thanksgiving.

The background technique for my card is direct ink to paper, leaves stamped with craft white, clear emboss over entire sheet.  I then sprinkled embossing Opals for added golden tones.

CGI~Holiday Hugs To You

Hello and Welcome
After being gone for almost 3 weeks on vacation, I spent 2 weeks in California with family and 3 days in Seattle with my oldest son......which was the highlight of my trip because he took me for a Helicopter Tour around Seattle up to Snoqualmie Falls, yes he was my pilot!  I got some awesome photos to share later on, tho vacations are never long enough I'm glad to be back home!

So now onto my posting for Come And Get It Challenges we are using a sketch this week, and you can rotate, flip or use a round format just as long as you use the sketch.

You really can't tell by the photo but I embossed the ornaments with Pipe Dreamink Clear Opals embossing powder and edged them with silver distressed inks to add dimension then I wanted more sparkle so stickles was rubbed on the snow flurries at the bottom of the card with a dab to the mini snow flakes

If you want to play along here's the sketch below to use

Anything But a Card Challenge at CGI

Wow another week has flown by and it's that time again for another challenge over at Come and Get It.
We'd like to challenge you to do something outside of the box this week as in "Anything but a Card"

Yes it's actually the lid of the Altoids Tin that I altered using a Rubber Stamp from Third Coast simply called "Fairy on Mushroom" FA-500-L, sentiment is from Impression Obsession and Fred Mullet weed stamp.
Stamped out image of  Fairy dry brush in distressed inks to color her and spray with Star Gazer Radiant Rains.( I just love the shimmery sparkle from these inks)

Cut Fairy out, attach to stamped background and using clear Pipe Dreamink Opals (these are embossing enamals from Australia) to adhere the the Fairy onto the tin as well as a little blue sprinkles along the edges.

Sketch Time CGI Challenges

Hello Everyone, this week over at Come and Get It  it's time for a sketch challenge and you'll find the sketch below that we'd like you to follow .........rotate, flip or change the shapes!

For this challenge I was thinking of the birthday card that I needed to make for my son ......mind you he's a grown adult, but I just love this LOTV image that I used!
Hint~To get my compass image larger I stamped it out and scanned the image and re-sized it, then printed & cut it out for my card.

I finished my card and realized that I hadn't followed the sketch real closely, so I added this edge to fix my fooba......Ta Da a different card indeed.

I started out with a strip of brown card stock and put in through the bubble embossing folder adding glitter embossing powder and Pipe Dream Opals.

Then adding the cut out vine with more PD Opals to embed it, love my new embellishment........I must say that I'm very pleased how it actually turned out!

I can imagine a little boy having made his little sail boat and watching it float out on the water.......as I'm sure most boys probably have at one time or another.

This is the stamped image and sentiment that I placed inside of the card

I'd like to share with these challenges:

Cracked Glass Technique

Well Hello again, yes it's getting closer to Halloween and I thought you might like to take a stroll and pick up some of these lovely pumpkins to carve that are for sale!  But beware that you'll have to cross the yard and dodge the bats getting to the Spooky house to buy them!

Oh man there are ghosts every where, even coming out of the Chimney.....I'm not sure I need a pumpkin that bad!!
 What do you think?
We are doing Technique week over at CGI and it's time to try your hand at Cracked Glass this week.  You can find the instruction at Split Coast Stamps and see how I achieved the effects for my card here.   I added ink into the cracks but some of the areas didn't want to take ink very well and others just look kind of smudged in the lines of the cracks.....oh well it was a fun technique to try this week at Come and Get It Challenges

Pumpkins for Sale, cracks included.......LOL
I'm entering my card for these challenges:
Fresh Brewed #67~Pumpkins
Crafting for all Seasons #12~Halloween
CMC Copic Challenge #29~ Fun Halloween
Thanks for stopping by, I so enjoy sharing my art with you!

Tapestry Background Sketch Challenge

Well Hello, this week we are doing a Sketch that Julie picked out at Come and Get It.  I wanted to try something different, so I decided to trying the technique "Tapestry" from Split Coast Stampers and you'll be able to find it here.

I added some sprinkles of the gold Pipe Dreamink Opals after the last coat of clear embossing powder and I think it adds just the right amount of sparkle......
I hope you get a chance to drop by the Design Teams Blogs to see what they've come up with!

I thought the little acorn from K&Company worked perfect especially since I use Oak leaves for my background.

Here's a close-up of the background

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Well hello there, I signed up to do some more Tag & Card swaps on a Yahoo group for this month and I worked on this tag for my first project, I'm pretty happy how the crane is silhouetted with the reeds & brush in the background......it was fun and easy!

Thanks for stopping by, hope your week is going well so far.........Happy Stamping!

Pipe Dreamink Tag

Just had a wild hair the other day...........I pulled out my Opals, and a few stamps to play well I finally got my tag finished added some lady bugs & Basic Gray fibre's.
If you don't know about the Pipe Dreamink Opals (Embossing Enamels) they are from an Australian company.
Opals are so fun to work with you do need a low temp embossing gun tho to work with these. OPALS are acid free and perfectly safe to use in your scrapbooks
Here's a website if your interested in finding out more about the Opals.
