5 Little Pumpkins

Ready for Fall?

Got the sewing bug lately with all the fun fabrics for Halloween/Fall
I decided to make some goodies for the grand kids
"Trick or Treat Bags"

I just loved this 5 little pumpkins fabric
(Have you read the story?)

So when I was gonna make one for a little boy
Hubby says you can't use the same fabric!
LOL so another trip to the fabric store

Here's the second one, I cut out some pumpkins
from the other fabric and attached them
before finishing the bag

Well with all that fabric left over I made a table runner

for my DIL and you can see the backing, she'll be

able to flip it over for Fall decor

I drew my pattern out for the pumpkin

and outlined it on the 5 little pumpkins fabric

Hello There!

We've been having some rainy weather the past week with a break of sunshine yesterday, but it's back raining again!

One Stitch At A Time has a new challenge up today and the theme is "Use a Digi" I'm sure you have lots of them that you could play and the winner gets all the digital images that were used in challenge 174! Wahoooo what a haul that would be! Check out the DT project!

I printed out 2 digital images of the birds, one just a bit smaller to add 2 birds for my card.

Kittens in the Garden with CGI

Hello There!

What a wonderful summer we are having, but I noticed this Am that a few leaves are starting to turn a bit yellow and loosing some color.......none dropping yet as the temperature is cooling off in the evenings to the 40's and it's started raining now here in Alaska

This week at Come And Get It we have a color challenge with Meighan hostingshe picked out a wonderful combination using a teal, yellow and green or SU colors it's Island Indigo, So Saffron and Lucky Limeade.

we are on the hunt for some DT Members for our happy little group!

No card today just a quick posting to wish you all a safe Holiday

Why Do We Celebrate the Fourth of July?

The fourth of July is the birthday of our nation. Today, we celebrate and enjoy the freedom that comes with the event that made this day so special.

Thomas Jefferson, is the author of the Declaration of Independence. He led a committee that crafted the declaration between June 11-28, 1776. Jefferson and other discontented representatives from the thirteen colonies, voted and approved it on July 4, 1776. The document declared freedom for the 13 colonies from British rule. It currently resides in the Exhibition Hall of the National Archive in Washington, D.C.

Did you know? The Declaration of Independence was not signed by all representatives until August 2, 1776. To make it official, John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress signed it. Now, can anyone guess where the saying "put your John Hancock on it" came from!?!

Today, we enjoy the benefits of the freedom which the farmers signed and ultimately fought for. For us, it is a time for baseball, hot dogs and family picnics. Summer is in full swing and life is good.

July 4th is not complete without the parades and fireworks......tho Alaska we do go to a grand display we can't have them for personal use as it's illegal.

Soft Landing~ CGI Color Theme

Wonderful Day to you All!

We got that yucky white stuff ...."Snow" yesterday evening and it's been cold enough that it has stayed on the ground though it's just a slight dusting it's a reminder that more will be on the way!

Everyone knew that the snow was coming early because the fireweed was blooming early this year and that is a sure sign as all the Ole timers say that here in Alaska.....not looking forward for more!

Well now on to our challenge over at Come And Get It, we are doing a Color Theme this week.

I wanted to do something a little different so I used one of the fun image from "Just Some Lines" that I won in a challenge some odd weeks ago, the link to their blog is in my side bar...........So now on to my fun card using Wanda witch-soft landing......see not all witches are ghoulish! LOL I added just a bit of glitter to the little flowers and dots for as my witch is floating down

Please use the color swatch shown below, you can use any 1 neutral color to go along with the creation of your project .....

So do you know why we celebrate Labor Day?

Labor Day is an American Federal Holiday the first Monday in September which happens to be today (September 3 in 2012) that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers.

The holiday is often regarded as a day of rest and parties, forms of celebration include picnics, barbecues, fireworks displays, water sports, and public art events.

Labor Day has come to be celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer.....remember it's not fashionable to wear white anymore! LOL

So I hope you are having a wonderful day relaxing!

OMG I just took a look see and found that I am now a new Design Team member of A & T Emerald Faeries !! LOL I'm so excited I had to tell someone the fantastic news!!

On this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress, setting the 13 colonies on the road to freedom as a sovereign nation.

"I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL."

Did you know that the United States has "Flag Rules & Regulations" if you are interested you can read about it here!

Have a safe fourth of July .....In the area that I live in we aren't aloud to have fireworks to celebrate as it's usually too dry but this years it's a wet soaker of a Holiday .....well sometimes I miss seeing the fireworks.
