I'm loving  this warm weather were having on the Kenai Peninsula here in Alaska!

I've been playing in the dirt with my seedling and putting up fences to keep the dogs out of my garden, Hubby has started on another greenhouse.......I'm so excited for more room!

Spring has finally arrived, the temperatures are slowly on the rise!  My sunroom is getting up to 80 degree's on sunny days and I'm opening the doors to let the heat come in!

Good Day!

Wowzer we had some powerful winds on the Kenai Peninsula this past week, over 3,000 folks without electricity, lots of trees downed along with that goes the power lines.....even on our road it was down to one lane with a tree over it when I went to work Friday morning.  No need to pay for sand blasting we were getting it all day with the winds!

Well Hello There!

Boy oh Boy Alaska's weather has been a really strange one for us so far with extended warm weather  we are seeing green grass where the snow has been plowed.

But I am not putting my winter clothes away yet as it could turn yucky and blast us with some more snowy weather yet!

Good Day!

Hey it's getting nippy out there in the mornings now, I had a hard frost on my vehicle windows so winter is on the way......what happened to Fall?.  That dreaded white stuff was reported in Eagle River with 5 inches of snow and that's only about 400 miles North of the Kenai Peninsula

Come And Get It Challenge ~ Winged Things

Good Day!

We've been having lots of rain where I live here in Alaska lately and the Skilak River has been at flood stage.  Yesterday I went to the Beach to help an Elder fish the net, and we manually pulled it in and out.  Got 10 fish in the 6 hours that we down there, they were fair size enough to get smoked and processed for winter supplies.
I took a big pot of Chicken veggie soup and put it on the fire, just sounded good for a rainy day...... so it was a fun day at the beach even if it was raining!
Got some raspberries picked before they were ruined by all this rain maybe make jam later.

Good Day!

Alaska's cloudy days are back again, but I did get my lawn mowed yesterday and managed not to get eatin' alive by Mosquitos..... You know two things are certain, as the saying goes: well Alaska can add one more to the list----Mosquitos.

I was reading an article about them blood suckers we actually have more than 2 dozen species......but the one good thing is they are not known to transmit yellow fever, West Nile virus or malaria in Alaska as they do in other parts of the world
